Recently I received an Instant Pot, like just a few days ago, I was super excite! I have researched them for a while and decided to go ahead and try one out. Now we have still been on the go constantly, and haven’t seemed to slow down at all. So my nights in the kitchen have been few and far between. So I am hoping this Instant Pot can help me with that a bit.
I truly enjoy cooking and honestly, I don’t mind the time that it takes. There are meals which require a great deal of preparation and time to prep and make. I really don’t mind spending a few hours fixing a meal, but I also know that I can’t do this every night.
So I literally receive this on Wednesday and Thursday night I decided to try out chili in the Instant Pot. I was skeptical at first, but let me tell you, it turned out great.

I did add a few different ingredients this time, little things like onions and some oregano. It was still delicious!
Anyway, back to the Instant Pot, it was so extremely easy to fix the chili in this. It took me a total of 30 minutes from start to finish to fix this chili. I had laid out my hamburger to thaw that morning. So by them time I was able to start dinner, around 6 that evening, it was thawed and ready to go. I chopped my onions and garlic, set the Instant Pot to sauté, added a little bit of olive oil in the bottom of the pan and threw in the chopped onions and garlic. Once those were soft I put the hamburger in and let it brown. Once that was finished up, I added all my usual ingredients. Once I had everything in the Instant Pot I stirred it well and placed the lid on and locked it. I set the Instant Pot to cook under high pressure, set the timer for 15 minutes. Hit the Pressure Cook button and away we went.
When the 15 minutes was up, I released the pressure valve up top, this allows you to go ahead and eat it instantly, once the pressure has released, or you can let the pressure release over time (naturally) and then chow down after a while.
Either way it’s great. Tasted the same as my crock pot. Now don’t get me wrong, I will still use the crock pot to cook my chili, but when in a time crunch and looking to do something quick, this is perfect!
Add some sliced avocado, cheese, onion, whatever you like!
